RF jewellery is made by the method of electroforming — a process that uses electroplating techniques to deposit copper onto a conductive surface, creating intricate and durable objects. Every organic item (e.g., a leaf, a twig, a fruit, a shell, etc.) undergoes an individual preparation and production process, making a one-of-a-kind exact replica of a natural object. This meticulous approach ensures that each piece captures the unique details and textures of the original organic item, resulting in a truly distinctive work of art. As a result, no two pieces are alike, highlighting the beauty of nature in every creation.
Red Forrest products are made from recycled copper and/or silver. We take particular care when sourcing other materials such as leather, gemstones, and production tools from reputable and sustainable sources. This commitment ensures that our products not only meet high quality standards but also support ethical practices throughout our supply chain. By prioritizing sustainability, we aim to reduce our environmental impact while providing unique, handcrafted items for our customers.
Copper and silver jewellery is prone to oxidation, which can lead to a change in colour over time. All Red Forrest jewellery has been treated to maintain its distinctive finish. Nevertheless, certain pieces may develop a different finish or experience slight colour changes as they are exposed to environmental elements over time. Some individuals appreciate this transformation as it imparts a vintage charm to the item. However, if you prefer to avoid this natural alteration, you can restore the original shine of the piece using the jewellery polishing cloth included with your purchase. Alternatively, gently rubbing the raised surfaces and edges with a Scotch-Brite pad can help regain their luster. It is advisable not to swim or shower while wearing copper jewellery, as soaps and other chemicals may lead to oxidation of the metal. Additionally, direct contact with perfumes should be avoided. Store your jewellery in the original box provided.
Copper is a very important element that plays a significant role in various physiological processes. It has a lot of beneficial properties, for example it may alleviate symptoms of arthritis and other inflammatory conditions. Some people may experience a dark stain on their skin if they wear copper jewellery that is unsealed. This is a normal reaction between copper and human skin , that depends on individual skin's acidity levels. It is neither harmful nor permanent. Red Forrest jewellery is sealed to prevent this reaction. In the unlikely event, if your skin ever does turn dark after wearing copper, just wash the spot with soap and water and the stain will come off.
